Main Street restoration taking shape!

Main Street restoration is taking shape in front of J. R. Kortman Center for Design. All the essential utilities have been buried and the new street foundation is becoming evident. Temporary blacktop "platforms" are going to be laid in front of J. R. Kortman, Octane, and Krypto Bar to create outdoor venues for this year's On The Waterfront celebration. Party right in the middle of the Main Street construction zone! Love Lemon Martini's and other refreshing beverages will be available at the Kortman Gallery Lounge (featuring bar host Chris Doyle)...and upstairs in the Kortman Gallery see the charcoal and pastel drawings of Anthony Billups. Anthony will perform live on Saturday night upstairs in the Kortman Gallery during OTW! Mention the Greenwich Village Art Fair when purchasing a LOVE LEMON MARTINI at On The Waterfront and receive a complimentary admission to the Art Fair.

Anthony Billups & Love Lemon Martinis at Kortman Gallery ‘Lounge’ during On The Waterfront

At this year’s On The Waterfront celebration, the Kortman Gallery will re-create a sexy, outdoor cocktail lounge on the almost restored North Main Street in front of J.R. Kortman Center for Design. The “Kortman Gallery Lounge” will feature Love Lemon Martini’s, along with several domestic and imported beers.
In addition, the upstairs gallery bar will offer colorful Art Shots, basic cocktails, wine, and, of course champagne.
The Kortman Gallery will be open during most of the festival hours and is featuring the art works of Anthony Billups.
The Love Lemon Martini was created in homage to Love Lemons which were a festival treat at the Rockford Art Museum's Greenwich Village Art Fairs back in the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Love Lemons consisted of a whole chilled fresh lemon which is pierced by a candy peppermint stick. The candy stick is porous so you can suck the juice from the lemon through the candy like a straw. The candy sweetens the lemon juice, and the peppermint flavor adds a cool refreshing taste.
The Love Lemon Martini is a blend of Vodka, Limoncello (a liqueur from Italy), fresh lemon juice, and garnished with a lemon wedge and peppermint stick. Yum! When life hands you lemons...have a martini!
